With these posts, I provide regular updates on the enterprise management layer for SAP S/4HANA.
The enterprise management layer for SAP S/4HANA is currently available on release 2022 FPS02 as of August 2023.
This post outlines new scope items and new functionality included in the new release of the enterprise management layer. Scope items that existed in previous releases might have been updated, for example, due to new functionality being available in release 2022 or due to new legal requirements in some countries.

The SAP Best practices scope item 5D2 is not compatible with the ‘classic’ Intercompany processes. If you choose not to include our service options VP01, VP06, and/or VP07, you can activate 5D2 yourself based on the setup guide provided by SAP Best Practices.
In the area of Finance, the following new functionality is activated:
- Advanced Valuation:
activated for most countries (not recommended for France and Poland for example). The functionality is described in scope item J58

Additional manual configuration and creation of master data is required to fully activate the scope items.
These scope items are not compatible with the following Product Service scope items and should first be tested in a sandbox environment.

Updated Service Option including Advanced Intercompany Sales, Advanced Intercompany Stock Transfer and Advanced Returns from Local Stock with Valuated Stock in Transit
Service Option [VP01] enables both options in parallel: sales, stock transfers and returns with and without Valuated Stock in Transit (VSiT) from our FPS01 (April) release onwards.

- Universal Parallel Accounting (UPA)
